Oman, measured.
سلطنة عُمان
Quantum Gulf Marketing is Oman's own market research agency. Ten years in the Sultanate, our own field team from Musandam to Dhofar, and the evidence to settle the decision in front of you.
Six ways we turn Oman into evidence.
Every engagement is built around your business question, not a templated package. Some clients need one audit. Others need a tracking programme that runs for years.
Mystery Shopping
Trained shoppers visit your branches, showrooms and service centres as ordinary customers, and score the experience against the standard you actually published. You find out what your customers get, not what your process says they get.
Retail Audit
In-store measurement of distribution, shelf share, pricing, planogram compliance and out-of-stocks across the trade channels that matter to your brand. Execution as it exists on the shelf, recorded outlet by outlet.
Field Surveys & Online Research
Face to face, telephone and online data collection with Omani respondents, run by interviewers who speak the dialect and know the wilayat. Sample designed to your quota, not to whoever answers fastest.
Focus Groups & In-Depth Interviews
Moderated discussion and one to one interviewing for when the number tells you what happened but not why. Recruitment screened against your criteria, moderation in Arabic or English.
Universe Census & Outlet Mapping
A physical count of every outlet in a defined market, geo-tagged and classified, so your sampling frame reflects the country as it is rather than a list somebody bought years ago.
Competitor Intelligence
Systematic tracking of what competitors charge, stock, promote and staff, collected in the field on a schedule you set. Benchmarking you can act on, sourced openly and ethically.
What disperses is the hardest thing to count.
Dhofar traded it for three thousand years, and every load was weighed where it changed hands. Markets are the same. The truth is only available where the transaction happens.
Oman is not a rounding error at the bottom of a Gulf report. It deserves an agency that lives here.
Quantum Gulf Marketing has operated in the Sultanate for more than ten years, legally registered in Muscat as a market research firm, with its own panel of shops and full-time staff rather than a list of freelancers assembled per project.
The company is owned by Omanis and managed together with SMRC in Dubai. That combination is the point: an Omani company with Omani and expat staff on full-time contracts here, run to the standards of an established regional practice with ex-GfK and ex-MEMRB people behind it.
Too much Gulf research treats Oman as a sample top-up collected on the way to somewhere else. A study designed in another capital does not know that Sohar buys differently to Salalah, or that a Friday count in one wilayat tells you nothing about a Tuesday in the next.
One construction. Twelve different geometries.
Two squares of equal radius, turned against each other. The construction never changes and no two panels repeat, which is exactly how a research method meets twelve different trade channels.
Every sector has its own trade channel.
We do not apply one methodology to twelve industries. Each has its own distribution structure, its own decision makers and its own definition of a good outlet, and the research design has to start there.
Oman solved distribution a thousand years ago.
One source, a measured gradient, and every plot getting its share on a schedule nobody argues about. Coverage is worthless unless it reaches the last terrace.
How an engagement runs.
Four stages, in this order, every time. You will know at each point what has been collected, by whom, and what it is telling you.
Define the question
We start with the decision you are trying to make, then work backwards to the data that would actually settle it. If a study will not change what you do, we say so.
Design the frame
Sample, quota, geography and instrument. Where a reliable outlet universe does not exist, we build one rather than sampling from a stale list.
Collect in the field
Our own briefed and supervised team collects the data, with quality checks running during fieldwork rather than after it, while problems can still be fixed.
Report the decision
Findings written for the person who has to act on them, with the raw data behind every chart available to your team on request.
Measured for the names that matter here.
More than thirty clients and over a hundred projects delivered inside the Sultanate, across retail audit, mystery shopping, satisfaction tracking and census work.
What the fieldwork actually looked like.
| Client | Programme | Sample | Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| GfK | Retail audit across mobile, technical consumer goods, optical, lubricants and tyres | 300 stores | Oman |
| Bank Dhofar | In-depth interviews, face to face | N = 3,000 | Full country |
| Bank Muscat | Consumer satisfaction across the branch network | N = 1,000 × 4 | Full country branches |
| Shell | Mystery shopping | N = 400 × 4 | Full country |
| Omantel | In-depth and face to face interviewing, SIM and telecom | N = 250 × 3 | Oman |
| Samsung | Mystery shopping | N = 30 × 4 | Full country |
| Caltex | Quantitative and qualitative research, B2B retailer interviews | B2B IDI | Full country |
Beyond the tracking programmes.
One brief. Three markets.
A brief that crosses borders is run as one project under one standard, rather than handed to a stranger in each country.
